Tapp wins Frisian Startup of the Year competition!
In Sint Annaparochie, the startup Tapp was awarded the title of Frisian Startup of the Year on Tuesday evening, as part of the Frisian Business of the Year Award. The majority of the audience voted for the startup.
Since 2016, the competition for Frisian startups has been organized as part of the Frisian Business Award for successful Frisian small to medium-sized businesses.
By now, six startups have been previously honored with the title: De Streekboer, Tanqyou, Grenzelooswerk, YFK Marketing & Research, SusPhos, and Aeroscan. A stage at Campus Middelsee in Sint Annaparochie served as the location for the final evening.
After the pitches of the nominees IMPACD Boats from Woudsend, Tapp from Leeuwarden, and CE-Line from Heerenveen, it was up to the audience. Jorrit Volkers, the chair of the Frisian Business of the Year Award, subsequently awarded the title to Niels Postma, the founder of Tapp. Alongside the title, Tapp wins two tickets, including accommodation for Slush, a trade mission in Helsinki and also the largest investor and startup event in Europe.

Tapp selected for ScaleNL accelerator
ScaleNL Accelerator gives 10 Dutch tech pioneers access to tailored resources, dedicated advisors and bespoke expertise with the goal of making their US market expansion successful from day 1. This initiative is supported by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The program focuses on bridging the gap for companies between their Netherlands strategy and new strategy catered specifically for success in the US market.
The East Coast edition of the ScaleNL Accelerator will run from January to March 2023. The 10 Founders joining the program have been selected based on their current Dutch and/or European success, as well as their potential for growth in the US market.

On the last day of the fair, Hall 2.1 becomes a networking hub for startups and established companies from all stages of the green value chain. Anyone who wants to get in touch with start-ups and perhaps do business with them is in exactly the right place in the Startup Area. Highly innovative startups from all over the world will have their temporary home base here on the last day of the fair and Tapp was selected as one of them – and the absolute highlight was pitching in front of a 200+ audience about our paper dataloggers.
