About Selecta one
The Selecta Group is a world leader in breeding, growing, and marketing innovative ornamental plants. Their activities span bedding and balcony plants, houseplants, perennials, and cut flowers. With production sites and sales offices across Europe, Africa, Asia, and America, they serve all relevant markets worldwide.
Selecta one now uses Tapp dataloggers to trace temperature deviations throughout their entire process: from harvesting to final delivery.

“Whenever you can change to a more sustainable approach without any negative effects, you simply have to do it.”
Nils Behrens, Selecta one
Why the switch to Tapp?
“We were already using dataloggers,” Nils explains. “Like many others, we worked with plastic USB loggers. The concept was the same: getting a clear picture of temperature conditions throughout the whole process.”
So why change? Nils: “To be honest, there was no real challenge with our previous solution: it worked well. But Tapp delivers the same results in a sustainable way. That’s the point. It’s the easiest way to support our planet.”
From data retrieval to instant access
With Tapp, data goes directly to the cloud the moment someone ‘taps’ the label with their phone. “Nobody needs to plug a USB stick into their computer anymore, and nobody can forget to send the report,” says Nils. “I’m confident we’ll receive more data back with this way of working.”

“Replacing plastic loggers means avoiding additional plastic waste and eliminating lithium batteries. That’s the biggest advantage: it supports us in taking the next step toward a more sustainable future.”

More than a supplier
What makes this collaboration different? “It really feels like a partnership,” says Nils. “The open communication between Niels Postma (founder of Tapp) and myself, and later between Matthias Abold and the Tapp team, made all the difference. We exchanged needs and developed this together, step by step.”
A message to the industry
What does this partnership signal to others in floriculture? Nils is clear: “It was never this easy to support sustainability. The investment to reach these goals is small compared to the positive results, avoiding plastic waste and lithium batteries. We would definitely recommend Tapp to others in the sector.
