Dole Nordic highlights Tapp in 2025 Sustainability Report

We’re proud to be featured in Dole Nordic’s 2025 Sustainability Report as one of the company’s highlighted sustainability initiatives.

Over the past year, Dole Nordic and Dole Europe have been working together with Tapp to explore a different approach to temperature monitoring. One that maintains product quality while dramatically reducing electronic waste generated by traditional single-use data loggers. The inclusion in Dole’s sustainability report marks an important milestone in that collaboration.

From pilot to broader collaboration

At the beginning of 2025, Dole Nordic launched a pilot with Tapp to evaluate a more sustainable alternative. Using Tapp’s paper-based data logger, the pilot demonstrated that reliable temperature monitoring can be achieved with more than 90% less electronic content than conventional single-use data loggers.

The report also highlights that the pilot provided valuable insights beyond the initial testing phase. Together, Dole Nordic, Dole Europe and Tapp developed an updated semi-active version based on the pilot results. That new solution is currently being tested across both Dole organisations, with the ambition of integrating it further into daily operations.

In particular, our work mapping greenhouse gas emissions together with CarbonCloud, testing recyclable electronics from Tapp, and demonstrating how our partner Biota uses satellite technology to support growers.”
