Introducing a simpler way to stay on top of shipment alerts. You could already see when something went wrong. But until now, you had to go looking for it. With our new notification settings, alerts come to you. Define what matters, choose how you receive updates and make faster, better informed decisions when it counts.
For companies shipping temperature sensitive goods, timing matters. As Kishore Rajhans, Director Operations at KF Bioplants, one of the world’s largest plant biotech companies, puts it: “For us, cold chain logistics is like oxygen.” When conditions drift outside the safe range, knowing what happened is important, but knowing when it deserves attention is what helps teams act with confidence.
That is exactly what Tapp customer Van den Bos Flowerbulbs values: “The ability to see at a glance if something went wrong during transportation, and take action right away if needed.” Because not every signal requires action, but the right signal at the right moment can make all the difference.
Two levels of alert, one clear signal
Every cold chain is different. What is acceptable for one shipment may be a red flag for another. That is why Tapp allows you to define your own limits.
Because not each violation is a reason to panic. Sometimes conditions briefly move outside the preferred range. A cold room door opens, loading takes a little longer than expected, or temperature rises for a short moment before quickly stabilising again. Worth knowing, but often no cause for concern. This is what we classify as a moderate alert.
A critical alert is different. Conditions remain outside the safe range for longer, increasing the risk of product loss, reduced quality or a break in compliance. This is the moment when attention matters most.
These alert settings are still defined through your label presets. That’s where you set your limits and classify violations as moderate or critical. Our new notification settings build on top of that, deciding when and how you’re informed when those thresholds are crossed.

From monitoring to decision making
Good monitoring is not about sending more alerts. It is about understanding which signals matter and knowing what to do next. That means fewer surprises, smarter decisions and greater control across your cold chain. Different teams work differently. Now your alerts can too.
Smart Alerts is now available to all customers.
