Tapp is used by growers, exporters, transport companies, distribution centers and quality managers in floriculture, fresh produce, seafood, meat, pharmaceuticals and other temperature-sensitive goods. Anyone who wants reliable cold chain data with less waste and hassle.

Temperature and humidity sensors. 

We currently offer three types of labels, each with built-in sensors tailored to different needs:

• Tapp Temperature
  Monitors temperature between +2 °C and +50 °C (35.6 °F to 122 °F)
• Tapp Humidity
  Monitors both temperature between +2 °C and +50 °C (35.6 °F to 122 °F) and humidity (0–100% RH)
• Tapp Freeze
  Designed for deep-frozen shipments, measuring temperature from –30 °C to +32 °C (–22 °F to 89.6 °F)

Each label delivers accurate insights and a full data report with a single smartphone tap.

Each Tapp label passively logs temperature and/or humidity at your chosen interval, with the alert rules you set. When your shipment arrives, the receiver taps the label with their smartphone to access the data report and instantly sees if action is needed, thanks to a clear green, yellow or red smiley. The data is then uploaded to the cloud, giving both sender and receiver full insight into what happened during transit.

Yes! It’s a passive logger by design. Each label continuously measures temperature and/or hudity during the entire shipment, without needing a GPS connection or active data link while in transit. The data is safely stored in the label and instantly uploaded to the cloud when the receiver taps and reads it. So your shipment data is always captured, wherever it goes.

Each Tapp label shows clear smileys when tapped: green for good, yellow for moderate alert, red for critical alert. This way the receiver knows immediately if everything went well during transit — or if any action is needed.

Yes. Once the receiver taps the label, the data is uploaded to the cloud and instantly available to both sender and receiver in the dashboard. From both the app and dashboard, you can download and share label reports as pdf and share them with your team.

In short… this is by design and falls within the scope of our EN12830 certification. The internal clock of our labels have a natural deviation, meaning that they have some variance in their measurement of time. Which differs between labels, but can also slightly change over time due to external factors like temperature. This is a hardware limitation, but also allows us to make a label with such a tiny footprint.

Our solution

Every time our labels interact with an active device like a smartphone — for example when activating the label or reading its data — we recalculate the timing of the measurements. This correction is based on the elapsed time the label communicates with our system, and the actual elapsed time between activation and the moment the label interacts with the active device. For example: the label was selected to measure every 5 minutes, in reality this could have been 5 minutes and 1 second due to the natural deviation. We would then correct the label report to have an interval of 5 minutes and 1 second, so the timestamps in your report reflect the actual moment the measurements were taken.

Please note: For the sake of convenience, we still show the selected interval instead of the corrected interval.

No. We create the product from a to z, that means that we also print the design onto the paper. Afterwards, it is not possible to print the paper with your own printer.

We are able to print every sheet of paper uniquely, so feel free to reach out if you want to discuss personalized and custom-made sheets.

You need the app to set up your label with custom intervals and settings. To read the label, the receiver can use QuickTap with any modern smartphone: no app needed.

The paper is certified for compostability (standard EN13432) and food safety (Regulation EC1935/2004). The paper is industrially compostable and can be recycled through regular worldwide waste paper recycling schemes.

When crops such as rice, wheat, barley, cereals, corn, hemp, and sugar cane are processed, 80% of the plant – its stems and leaves (agricultural waste) – is left unused. Worldwide, billions of tons of agricultural waste are produced every year. Currently, most of this agricultural waste is burned.

From this agricultural waste, we recover cellulose, which is the most important raw material for paper. With lots of attention to the environment, we convert this cellulose into high quality sustainable smart paper. Agricultural waste gets a second life for the production of our paper dataloggers. The amount of agri-waste replaces fibres from trees and so these trees no longer need to be specially planted, but can stay where they are to absorb CO₂ and turn it into oxygen; to become regular forests again with a large diversity of life and biodiversity.

Tapp is designed leave less behind. Our label is made from sustainable virgin paper sourced from agricultural waste and contain no lithium, no heavy metals, and no plastic casing. 

Because our label is paper-based and ultra-light, it creates up to 90% less e-waste compared to conventional loggers. It’s optimized for minimal environmental impact, from production to disposal.
