Tapp dataloggers, the solution for e-waste in cold chain logistics
In 2025 alone, the world generated 65 million tonnes of e-waste. Less than a quarter was handled properly. The rest adds to a growing mountain of toxic waste that's polluting communities worldwide. Most e-waste discussions focus on long-lasting devices like refrigerators, televisions and smartphones. Yet dataloggers are a category of electronics with lifespans measured in weeks, engineered for just one shipment, then thrown away.

Rethinking materials
We come from the paper industry, spending years working with one of the world’s simplest and most renewable materials. When we saw the e-waste problem in logistics, the answer felt obvious. Traditional dataloggers are built around a plastic case, so we asked ourselves: what if paper could replace it?
Removing what isn’t needed
Instead of embedding a computer in every disposable product, we use the one you already carry. A smartphone already has a screen, buttons and a cloud connection, so we stripped everything redundant from the datalogger itself. A single tap powers and reads the sensor, delivering accurate data with up to 90% less electronic waste.
Building a better alternative
Our mission is to shrink the mountain of e‑waste by designing solutions that last only as long as they need to and by using the systems we already have more intelligently. Produce fewer electronics. Discard fewer electronics. Because real progress should not only be smarter, it should be lighter.
And we keep pushing for greener materials and better processes, because good enough isn’t the goal.
Real-world impact
We're not here to just add a green label. We're here to eliminate waste. And we're not done yet. We keep pushing for better materials, smarter design, and circular systems.
